Many years ago a dear friend of mine assured me that one way to make our kids love us was to fondue with them. Since making them clean their rooms and do math and wash dishes wasn't working, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try her method.
After cramming it in with Christmas and New Year's celebrations for about five years in a row, I finally got smart and forced the family to move this tradition to Valentine's Day. After all, I WAS trying to get the kids to LOVE me, right?
So, here we are in all of our Heart Day Blissfulness with our three fondue pots and 826 lighted candles.

There were two little boys in particular that I had to keep wrestling away from the fudgey chocolate pot.
So I could get my own marshmallows in, that is.

And here's the proof that the fondue scheme works:

Teenage boy with his arm voluntarily around mom and a big smile on his face.
When I get to heaven and see my friend Gail, I'm going to put both my arms around her and give her a big hug and tell her thanks for the great idea!

I'm impressed no one was burned and no one stabbed themselves with those fondue forks. Zowie, they're sharp! Not that I've stabbed myself, of course. No.
I get a little excited about my chocolate.
Can you believe I have never tried fondue? There is a great fondue restaraunt in Chicago but my hubby never wants to try it. When we are in Chicago he only wants to eat at the fancy steak houses.
I too would like to Fondue! I will have to look for a cheap set at a garage sale or something since its not on my dave ramsey list of "needs"!
"I'm impressed no one was burned and no one stabbed themselves with those fondue forks."
This statement is not entirely true....it was really dark in there.....
yumm! And wow, Graden looks like you......
Okay... the more I'm around you, the more I totally want to COPY you!
That says one of two things: "I'm creepy", or "You're cool." Let's go with "You're cool."
I LOVE the fondue idea and plan to emulate sometime soon...
