Yes, I knew that just a few days later another birthday was on the calendar. Which would also require making a cake. And (semi) cleaning house and making a meal. Not that I don't enjoy doing those things, because I really do, except for the meal thing, but they take time. I just didn't know how I was going to scrape up the hours to do all that twice in one week. I mean, when would I eat my Bon Bons and watch my soaps?
Anyway, Micah turned four on May 3rd - 5th Child, 3rd Boy. 5th month, 3rd day. I'm totally into that number stuff. He was requesting another Cars (Lightning McQueen) birthday, but I talked him into Curious George, since he WAS born in the Year of the Monkey.
And yes, we did sing, "Happy birthday to you. You live in a zoo. (Well, close enough!) You look like a monkey and you act like one too."
What? It was totally appropriate.
I got him the shirt, because I knew he was going to want to wear his Lightning McQueen shirt, even though it was not THAT kind of party. Hello!?!
Anyway, Micah really loves presents. Realllllly. And he's very appreciative of his presents. Very often he will be playing with a toy and out of the blue, tell me who got it for him. It's so sweet. So, he really liked all of his presents, but the present that he reallllly liked was this. It's a little Carwash from, guess what? The Lightning McQueen Collection.
And it was given to him by....oh, let me see.....I think I remember...it's coming to me.....OH! YES! It was from ME! His Mama! Thankyouverymuch.
And speaking of "Thank you very much," when I tucked my monkey into bed that night he looked up at me with his big black eyes and said with no prompting, "Tank you for my Cu-us Geo-ge birt-day, Mama."
And I thought that was so sweet it was worth another party. Who cares about Soaps and Bon Bons?

Oh, that boy. And that cake, goodness sakes.
Oh so sweet it brought tears to my eyes. He couldn't wait to show me his new Lightning McQueen shoes Sunday night. He was the first person I thought of when I saw those at the Stuff Mart.
Happy Birthday Micah!!! Looks like you had a fun Curious George birthday party!
Mrs. Brown
Happy Birthday Micah! I should have brought some cupcakes to Sunday school to celebrate! On second thought - after watching you eat (devour) snacks all year that probably wouldn't have been a good idea. So glad you had a great Curious George party!
