We kind of threw a little celebration together last-minute and he asked for a Lego Cake.
While I was getting the frosting paraphernalia out he gave me instructions on exactly how it should look, right down to which colors he wanted and where they were to be located on the cake.
And the cake is about all the effort I put into this little shindig. Thankfully, Chloe stayed up late the night before and made a whole obstacle course in the basement for the party guests to maneuver.
Which was especially nice since, although it was sunny and 80 degrees out, Farmer Brown decided to spread manure in the fields surrounding our house last week. Outdoor play was not an option. So, I had a houseful of rowdy boys for that afternoon.
Oh, wait - I ALWAYS have a houseful of rowdy boys.
Well, we happen to have something perfect hanging right in the living room. And I think that lady in the center makes the perfect bullseye.
I have a feeling that Nerf guns are going to appear on a lot of Christmas lists at the McCashen Home this December. And that happens to be the next birthday here as well. Yeah, I know, Baby Jesus...but Grayden will be turning 15 that day as well. Wow - he can ask for TWO guns.

Great cake. Great target practice.
Happy Birthday Keegan! Birthdays are so much fun! I know how excited you were to celebrate your birthday with your friends.
As far as the maneuver I am glad you told me where that was coming from, we have been smelling that over at our house this whole past week, gross!!!!!
"Nerf-gun war" is a favorite game at our house. Dad loves it just as much as the kids! They all have their own guns, and the bullets are everywhere. I'm sure it does a lot to promote the idea of world peace and tolerance. Sure is fun though!
Hey Kelly, the cake turned out great! As for the nerf-gun wars, you might like to consider a marshmallow shooter -- I bought one for our family Christmas exchange and it was the hit of the party! Long tube-like air-gun that shoots small marshmallows (or foam pellets, but marshmallows are alot more fun -- and yummy.) I got mine at www.drugstore.com . Just do a search for marshmallow shooter.
Happy Birthday Keegan!
I can't believe how old everyone is! I hope that this summer (if I have time and if you have me) I would love to come and visitate with ya'll!
Give my love to everyone!
Love,
Aubrey FG
