Caleb's Going Away Party

Caleb was in a unit with about 20 other kids. He had a group of 10 nannies who took care of him and we were able to go up to his bedroom and play with the children and bring them gifts. We brought "Matchbox" cars, stickers, finger puppets and little "poky" animals. A few big bags of Skittles made it into our suitcase as well.

It was a joy for us to be able to sit with the kids and watch themenjoy their gifts. Their favorites were the cars and the stickers. I put stickers on a couple of them and I was suddenly swarmed! Since I had put it on the first couple of kids' arms, the others came pointing at their own arms, signaling me not to leave them out of the fun!

Well. The orphanage scenes always bring tears to my eyes. Glad you got to be there. And the going away part? Oh, don't get me started. Blubber blubber blubber.

That is so neat that you are able to go to the orphange where Caleb was and be able to take that back with you so that one day you will be able to share those pictures and stories with him, that is just so special!

Oh How Precious! So glad he got to go say goodbye. So glad you guys got to be there with him.
I dreamt about you guys last night.(you know me and my wierd dreams.) I dreamt that Kristy had to leave and I had to go take care of the kids. Only all 6 of them were there. I couldn't get control of anything, your house was getting torn apart and the laundry was piling higher and higher. You also had some wierd ferret creature for a pet that was running wild(told ya, WEIRD!) I guess that was just this Mom of two thinking about what a wonderful Mom of six you are. You handle it all with such ease!

Wow, we will never know the love and sacrifice of those precious caregivers! I'm sure they have many bittersweet moments in their lives! Thanks for giving us this glimpse.

Misty...your dreams never cease to amaze me! Or maybe it's actually reality...has anyone talked to Christy?! :) Grayden, Emma, Chloe, Keegan, and Micah...now is the time to go ahead and get that pet you've always wanted, in two weeks you could have it house broken and everything before your parents get home! I'll even drive you to the pet store. Hey, Kelly, this is kind of fun, teasing and antagonizing you and nothing you can do about it!

Oh those children are so precious. I can't wait to bring more home with us, someday, somehow, we'll be back to Vietnam.
I'm sooooooooo glad that you got to spend time with Caleb's nannies and friends.
