We are NOT in Hanoi. No, that is not a very fun surprise is it? I didn't think so either. First thing this morning we went to the airline office and booked our flights out at 6 PM. We got all packed up and checked out of our nice hotel and were waiting for the passport office to call and tell us to come and pick them up.
And we waited and waited and waited. No call. Finally, they called Henry and told him that the computers had been down and the passports would not be ready.
Yes, it is true. The computer is not our friend.
We are now staying in the second worse hotel room I have ever stayed at in my life. (The first was one in Traverse City on our 1st wedding anniversary when we were really, really broke. Even more broke than after two international adoptions.) Anyway, we are supposed to be able to get the passports in the morning and then get up to Hanoi in the afternoon.
One silver lining: The beds in this room are actually soft. Which probably just means the bugs enjoy them more. Which makes it not a silver lining at all.
I don't know what this will do to our return date. We had hoped to come home early, but now that is probably out of the question. Please pray that things go much quicker in Hanoi! I probably won't be able to post till tomorrow evening at the earliest.

Oh we know how Kelly HATES anything that throws the schedule off!RRRG! I was reading this to Miss Chloe and she said "UH OH"! Uh oh is right sista' the mama doesn't look kindly on people messing with her perfect world! Oh sing a little, "It is well with my soul..." You can do it come on...! Hope your sleeping tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite:) Oh maybe that's a bad joke. YUK!
Oh yes, that reminds me. Our passports were delayed in Kunming for the very same reason - computers.
Surprise is right.
I hate it when plans do not go as planned. By the time you read this you will have rested well in your "humble" abode. Perhaps all of this is just a reality check that we aren't in control as much as we think we are! Surprise, surprise... Did singing "It is well" help you? I pray that it did.
"I have learned to be content, whether well fed or hungry...." remember that verse....think of Paul, think of Paul, think of Paul.....and then go bleach yourselves. I do sympathize with you, though. I'm sorry about that! I will pray for fast travels...
This was not a surprise to God...He has it all under control. Including your return date! Just think of all that character you're building. :) We are praying for you!
Looking forward to seeing all of you no matter what day it is! I will be waiting with smiles!!!
Be patient and just post lots of photos to all of us and we will remain happy! Does Caleb like his phone? How is he sleeping?
ENJOY your time in Vietnam, who knows when you'll ever get back?
Be happy that you have one more day in your child's birth city.
Have you been to the Cathedral yet? Just enjoy yourselves!
Kelly-I am missing your daily updates! :( I was hoping that you would be able to post even though you weren't sure if you could...oh well, we are praying for you and know we will "talk" to you soon.
Sorry to hear of your delay. I don't even want to think about bugs!! I hope you are back on track soon. Darn computers!
