Something that was on my list of things we should see in Vietnam was a water puppet show. It was fun and interesting and bizarre all in one 50 minute session. Probably the only reason it seemed bizarre is that we don't happen to speak Vietnamese, so it was a little difficult to follow the story lines. We think that they were showing us several of their country's legends.
The puppeteers stand behind the screen and maneuver the puppets on sticks (if we figured it out correctly) and there are musicians and singers on each side of the stage doing all the voices and background music.
Before the show, a certain somebody started a big fit and we thought we were going to have to leave. But, I'm happy to say, the parents are coming out way ahead in the Battle of the Wills. Once the certain somebody figured out we weren't going to stand for it, he settled in and actually enjoyed the show - at least a little more than the zoo.

They're not just puppets; they're WATER puppets. Glad you got to see the show! Maybe you didn't understand the show, but hey. I'm guessing you don't understand 95% of what is being spoken around you anyway. Unless of course you've snuck some VN language training in during your "free time."
Thanks for sharing the latest! Love the pics! Looks like a happy family to me.
