Well, it certainly wasn't your typical Easter Day for us. Mostly because....um....we're in a communist country. There were no church services, no Easter bonnets, no egg hunts. Instead, we took a walk in a park just down the street. It was beautiful! We risked our lives getting there though, because we had to cross the street. WITHOUT YEN.
We had some tickle time in our room. We have actually received a few non-tickle-induced smiles today too, which is a real treat!
We ended the day with a special dinner at Pizza Hut. Kyle had pizza. Weird. I had fettuccini with ham, so I could get in my Easter ham. Caleb had the same thing he has for EVERY SINGLE MEAL: Noodles. Just plain noodles. But when he wasn't looking, I sneaked in some peas. Mooohahaha....He tried to spit them out, but I forced him to swallow and he liked them after that! Too bad I only had 10 left. But hey, 10 peas is a huge step in the right veggie direction. Who knows? Tomorrow it may be 10 brussell sprouts! (Not really. Even *I* am not that mean.)
And a little side note: Caleb is terrified of balloons. What's up with that? You can see I am as compassionate as usual. I couldn't help myself. He was kind of fussy and the waiter brought him a balloon to try to pacify him while we waited. HA!! He freaked out.
You may notice that even though it wasn't your normal Easter Celebration, we did put on our Sunday Best. Kyle and I were wearing our matching Steven Curtis shirts. And today we celebrated not just new life in Christ, but the new life of our son. He will grow up an American citizen and have the freedom to worship God as he chooses.
Tomorrow we will be heading up to Hanoi by plane. There we will be waiting on that wonderful US government to clear us as Caleb's legal parents, so that we can come home. Not sure what our schedule will be, so don't be concerned if we haven't got time to post.
Someone, please eat a chocolate bunny for me. Or a chocolate cross as the case may be.

Oh, that balloon shot is great.
It is so nice to see Caleb smiling!! I am so anxious to see him and get the scoop....if I remember right, Micah liked to hit Keegan when he came home. I wonder if Micah will be the recipient of the biting? I sure hope not!
Being the wonderful friend that I am, I will be the one to sacrifice and eat a chocolate bunny for you. It's a tough job but someone has to do it.
LOVE the pictures...especially the balloon one capturing your sympathetic side and the tickle monster one!
Love the picture of Kyle and Caleb!
Please don't terrorize my sweet nephew! :)
We are loving following your journey with Caleb. We can't wait to meet him.
Love,
Dad and Pam
